Merchandise Product Development Grad Competing for Miss California 2019

Recent FIDM Graduate and current Miss Santa Clarita USA Justice Hope Enlow is competing for the title of Miss California 2019 in January.

When 24-year-old Justice graces across the stage in January to compete, she plans to detail her life with endometriosis as part of her pageant platform. She recently told the Endometriosis Foundation of America that graduating from FIDM with a degree in Merchandise Product Development in December was a long shot. “I lost a lot of time at college due to endo flair-ups," she said. "I was dealing with symptoms for 10 years, but symptoms got really debilitating when I was 22. I had random cysts rupturing, and I thought I had a gluten intolerance, but it was endo.”

The health activist plans to use her time in the spotlight to show others it’s possible to still live an active life even while suffering from a chronic and debilitating disease. She also hopes to drive home the importance of catching endometriosis as early as possible for the best chances of preserving fertility.

On Instagram, she recently wrote: "I am so thrilled to be the new Miss Santa Clarita USA! I’m in full-out prep-mode. Win or not, I feel genuinely privileged to represent my endo-sisters on the Miss California USA stage. The more understanding that the public has of endo and similar diseases, the more likely those who suffer are to find a diagnosis! Last year this time I was stuck in bed for most days of the month; this year I’m in remission, feeling amazing, and working a full-time job!"
